Carla Ancona

I am a senior environmental epidemiologist at the Department of Epidemiology of the Regional Health Service of Lazio, in Rome, Italy dealing with health effects of industrial contamination, air and noise pollution, urban factors and health. I have a degree in Biology, a speciality diploma in Health Statistics, and an International Master's diploma in Evaluation and Management of Health Technologies. I have been involved in several national and international research projects aimed to assess the health effect of environmental risk factors. In recent years I have coordinated several training modules on environmental health as coordinator of the Environment and Health Italian Network. I am co-author of more than 100 scientific papers published in international and Italian journals and indexed in PubMed. I was Co-Chair of the XXVIII ISEE Conference, Rome 2016. In 2021, I was elected Deputy President of the Italian Association of Epidemiology. Currently, I am the coordinator of the Italian Task Force of Environment and Health and a member of the Italian focal point in the WHO European Environment and Health Task Force.
