Valentina Gallo

Valentina Gallo is Rosalind Franklin Fellow and Associate Professor in Epidemiology and Sustainable Health at the University of Groningen, Campus Fryslân. Valentina trained as a clinical neurologist in Rome (Italy), and as epidemiologist at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK). She started working as an epidemiologist with a special interest in molecular epidemiology and neuroepidemiology at Imperial College London first, and then at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Queen Mary University of London.
Over the years, her interests moved towards public and global health. Since joining the University of Groningen, Valentina has been working on Planetary Health, specifically investigating pesticides and biodiversity. She is the Head of the Department of Sustainable Health which hosts interdisciplinary research and teaching activities. She also set up an international virtual research group to foster research on eco-anxiety. Contact: [email protected] |
